Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.

Microstructure and Comprehensive Properties of Chromium Coatings Prepared by Periodic Electrodeposition [PDF]
In order to ensure that the basic properties of chromium coatings, such as hardness and adhesion, meet product requirements,to enhance the corrosion resistance of chromium-plated parts,to shorten the crack length of the chromium layer at the source, and to ...

Elastic moduli of model random three-dimensional closed-cell cellular solids
Most cellular solids are random materials, while practically all theoretical results are for periodic models. To be able to generate theoretical results for random models, the finite element method (FEM) was used to study the elastic properties of solids

Backbone Heterojunction Photocatalysts for Efficient Sacrificial Hydrogen Production
Herein, a ‘single‐component’ organic semiconductor photocatalyst is presented in which a molecular donor is bonded to a polymer acceptor. The resultant material demonstrates exceptional photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution in aqueous triethylamine with an outstanding external quantum efficiency of 38% at 420 nm.

Direct method-based statistical limit analysis of wc-co composites [PDF]
In this paper, a direct method-based prediction of load-bearing capacity of nonperiodic WC-Co composites is presented. The main goal is to generalize the methodology of limit analysis on periodic heterogeneous media to materials with random ...

Surface Effects in Magnetic Microtraps
We have investigated Bose-Einstein condensates and ultra cold atoms in the vicinity of a surface of a magnetic microtrap. The atoms are prepared along copper conductors at distances to the surface between 300 um and 20 um.

Magnetoactive elastomers with periodic and random microstructures
AbstractWe investigate the behavior of magnetoactive elastomers (MAEs) with periodic and random distributions of circular and elliptical fibers. For the MAEs with periodic microstructures, we develop finite element models and determine the local fields as well as the effective properties of MAEs with rectangular and quasi-hexagonal unit cells.
