Bo Ju Jiang applied Neilsen theory to the study of periodic orbits of a homeomorphism. His method employs a certain loop in the mapping torus of the homeomorphism. Our interest concerns the persistence of periodic orbits in parameterized families of homeomorphisms.

Summary Data‐driven forecasting of ship motions in waves is investigated through feedforward and recurrent neural networks as well as dynamic mode decomposition. The goal is to predict future ship motion variables based on past data collected on the field, using equation‐free approaches.

Neural Network Adaptive Control With Long Short‐Term Memory
ABSTRACT In this study, we propose a novel adaptive control architecture that provides dramatically better transient response performance compared to conventional adaptive control methods. This is accomplished by the synergistic employment of a traditional adaptive neural network (ANN) controller and a long short‐term memory (LSTM) network.

On the bifurcation of periodic orbits
This article is a survey on recent contributions to an effective version of Bautin's theory about the bifurcation of periodic orbits (limit cycles). The analysis of Hopf bifurcations of higher order is possible by use of the return mapping. Explicit estimates of the size of the domain on which the number of limit cycles is controlled are important in ...

Chromatin, which organizes DNA, changes its structure to adapt to stress like high oxygen levels (hyperoxia), which can damage cells. Researchers developed a technique to observe these changes and found variability in how different parts of chromatin remodel.

Using supramolecular monomers, various hydrogel culture systems were formulated to culture protoplasts; including 2D, 2.5D, and 3D hydrogels. Depending on the culture platform, bioactive functionalization led to protoplast enlargement (2D and 2.5D) or plasmolysis (3D). This work shows the potential to modularly engineer synthetic platforms for cellular
