More than six hundred new families of Newtonian periodic planar collisionless three-body orbits
, 2017The famous three-body problem can be traced back to Isaac Newton in the 1680s. In the 300 years since this “three-body problem” was first recognized, only three families of periodic solutions had been found, until 2013 when Šuvakov and Dmitrašinović ...

Multiplicity of periodic orbits for dynamically convex contact forms
, 2015We give a sharp lower bound for the number of geometrically distinct contractible periodic orbits of dynamically convex Reeb flows on prequantizations of symplectic manifolds that are not aspherical. Several consequences of this result are obtained, like

This paper studies the distribution of characteristic multipliers, the structure of submanifolds, the phase diagram, bifurcations, and chaotic motions in the potential field of rotating highly irregular-shaped celestial bodies (hereafter called irregular

Targeting unstable periodic orbits
Physical Review E, 1995Specific targeting of unstable periodic orbits has been achieved by using large-amplitude perturbations in a dynamical system. The method has been demonstrated experimentally on a ${\mathrm{CO}}_{2}$ laser with modulated losses whose unstable periodic orbits are created either at a period-doubling or at a saddle-node bifurcation.

Unstable periodic orbits and prediction
Physical Review A, 1991A hierarchical approximation of a generic chaotic attractor can be formulated in terms of unstable periodic orbits. We demonstrate the possibility of extracting the most dominant unstable periodic orbits from a measurement of a time-continuous flow. Since unstable periodic orbits not only represent the static properties of the system but also dominate ...

Periodic Orbits and Accretion Disks
Celestial Mechanics and Dynamical Astronomy, 1997The motion of a small particle in a binary system where the radiation pressure is not negligible is considered. The photogravitational three-body problem is used as a model of formation of a disc by accretion. The author generalizes the method of \textit{Paczyńsky} [Astrophys. J.
