Periodic attractors of perturbed one-dimensional maps [PDF]
In this paper we investigate how many periodic attractors maps in a small neighbourhood of a given map can have. For this purpose we develop new tools which help to make uniform cross-ratio distortion estimates in a neighbourhood of a map with degenerate

About Rays, Dreadlocks and Periodic Points in Transcendental Dynamics
We study some aspects of the iteration of an entire map f over the complex plane ℂ. In many settings in complex dynamics one can define periodic curves (called dynamic rays) in the dynamical plane and study their relation with periodic points.

Strictly Temporally Periodic Points in Cellular Automata [PDF]
We study the set of strictly periodic points in surjective cellular automata, i.e., the set of those configurations which are temporally periodic for a given automaton but they not spatially periodic.

On common fixed points, periodic points, and recurrent points of continuous functions
It is known that two commuting continuous functions on an interval need not have a common fixed point. However, it is not known if such two functions have a common periodic point.

A HASSE PRINCIPLE FOR PERIODIC POINTS [PDF]
Let F be a global field, let φ ∈ F(x) be a rational map of degree at least 2, and let α ∈ F. We say that α is periodic if φn(α) = α for some n ≥ 1. A Hasse principle is the idea, or hope, that a phenomenon which happens everywhere locally should happen globally as well. The principle is well known to be true in some situations and false in others.

Eventually Periodic Points of Infra-Nil Endomorphisms
Hyperbolic toral automorphisms provide important examples of chaotic dynamical systems. Generalizing automorphisms on tori, we study (infra-)nil endomorphisms defined on (infra-)nilmanifolds.

Interval Methods for Fixed and Periodic Points: Development and Visualization [PDF]
We describe the development of rigorous numerical methods based on interval analysis for finding all fixed points of a map and all attracting periodic points of a complex polynomial. We also discuss their performance with instructive visualizations.

Periodic points of a Landen transformation [PDF]
We prove the existence of 3-periodic orbits in a dynamical system associated to a Landen transformation previously studied by Boros, Chamberland and Moll, disproving a conjecture on the dynamics of this planar map introduced by the latter author. To this end we present a systematic methodology to determine and locate analytically isolated periodic ...

Invariant manifolds and orbit control in the solar sail three-body problem [PDF]
In this paper we consider issues regarding the control and orbit transfer of solar sails in the circular restricted Earth-Sun system. Fixed points for solar sails in this system have the linear dynamical properties of saddles crossed with centers; thus ...

Optimal periodic output feedback control: a continuous-time approach [PDF]
: This paper addresses the problem of optimal static output feedback control of linear periodic systems. The proposed approach, which allows to deal with both stable and unstable open loop systems, relies on a continuous-time formulation of the control ...
