Voclosporin‐induced gingival enlargement: A case report

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Drug‐influenced gingival enlargement (DIGE) is a recognized adverse effect of certain medications, particularly immunosuppressants like cyclosporin and tacrolimus. However, there have been no documented cases of DIGE associated with voclosporin, a newer calcineurin inhibitor used primarily to treat lupus nephritis.

Impaired healing following implant placement surgery: A case report of a modern‐day manifestation of scurvy

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Delayed wound healing following implant placement surgery is an uncommon complication, usually attributed to systemic (smoking and alcohol), local (severely inflamed tissues), or technical (poor suturing) factors. However, delayed wound healing after implant placement caused by severe hypovitaminosis C has not been previously ...

Evaluation of Morinda citrifolia (noni) fruit extract as a bone regenerative material in the treatment of periodontal intrabony osseous defects: Clinical and cone-beam computed tomography assessment

open access: yesJournal of Indian Society of Periodontology, 2021
Background: Nature and its products can be utilized for regeneration in periodontal destruction and damage to supporting tissues. We come across the use of various graft materials to reestablish the lost bone and for the long-term survival of teeth.

Preprocedural anxiety and pain perception following root surface debridement in chronic periodontitis patients [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Natural Science, Biology and Medicine, 2018
The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare preprocedural dental anxiety levels and postprocedural pain perception in chronic periodontitis patients during conventional-staged root surface debridement (RSD) and single-stage RSD.Thirty-seven adult generalized chronic periodontitis patients requiring RSD were recruited in this study.

Minocycline Ointment as a Local Drug Delivery in the Treatment of Generalized Chronic Periodontitis - A Clinical Study [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2016
Introduction: The primary goal in periodontal therapy includes removal of the etiological factors by mechanical periodontal treatment, which sometimes fail to eliminate the anaerobic infection at the base of the pocket and requires adjuvant chemical ...

Evaluation of the Use of Platelet-Rich Fibrin Xenologous Membranes Derived from Bubaline Blood in Canine Periodontal Defects

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences, 2021
Periodontal disease is the most common oral disease in dogs. Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is widely utilized to facilitate soft and hard tissue healing and has been proposed in periodontal healing in small animal treatment.

Biofilm removal capacity and titanium surface integrity in non‐abrasive versus abrasive peri‐implantitis cleaning interventions

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Current peri‐implantitis treatment methods are modeled after dental cleaning modalities like abrasive surface cleaning. However, mechanical abrasive cleaning not only inadequately removes implant biofilms but also compromises implant surface integrity with adverse biological effects.

Clinical evaluation of ultrasonic subgingival debridement versus ultrasonic subgingival scaling combined with manual root planing in the treatment of periodontitis: study protocol for a randomized controlled trial

open access: yesTrials, 2020
Background Periodontal diseases are regarded as the most common diseases of mankind. The prevalence rate of periodontal disease assumes a clear growth tendency, increasing by 57.3% from 1990 to 2010. Thereby, effective periodontal therapy is still a long-
