Periodontally Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics (PAOO)- A Case Report
Indian Journal of Public Health Research & Development, 2016This case report depicts corticotomy-assisted rapid orthodontic procedure known as periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO) without the use of bone grafts. A 28-year-old man, with class I malocclusion, congenitally missing upper laterals and severe spacing of maxillary anterior teeth, was treated with the PAOO procedure.

This case report describes a patient with severe (11-mm) mandibular anterior crowding who received periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO) nonextraction treatment, showing 5-year follow-up. A 15-year-old female presented with severe dental crowding, Angle Class I skeletal and molar relationships and a Class II canine relationship, and ...

Periodontal Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics: A Description of the Surgical Technique
Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 20091 a z t g r b t w t t b e v p eriodontal accelerated osteogenic orthodontics PAOO) is a clinical procedure that combines selecive alveolar corticotomy, particulate bone grafting, nd the application of orthodontic forces. This proedure is theoretically based on the bone healing attern known as the regional acceleratory phenomnon (RAP).

Clinical Advances in Periodontics, 2020
Focused Clinical QuestionSurgically facilitated orthodontic treatment (SFOT)/periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO) has the potential of allowing safer orthodontic treatment in vulnerable periodontium with thin phenotypes. SFOT/PAOO is a phenotype modification therapy (PhMT) approach where thin bone morphotype and/or gingiva are ...

Commentary on: Periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO) – a clinical dilemma
International Orthodontics, 2010It is apparent that tooth movement is enhanced by procedures that elevate the remodeling of alveolar bone, and of periodontal and gingival fibrous tissues. The periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO) also termed as Wilckodontics, involves full-thickness labial and lingual alveolar flaps accompanied with limited selective labial and ...

Scope of treatment with periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics therapy
Seminars in Orthodontics, 2015Guidelines for tooth movement limits are meant to help clinicians in treatment-planning decisions, especially for "severe" or "borderline" adult malocclusions. The purpose of this article was to review well-accepted scope of care beliefs and compare with suggested scope of treatment offered by periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO ...

[Periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics in clinical treatment].
Zhonghua kou qiang yi xue za zhi = Zhonghua kouqiang yixue zazhi = Chinese journal of stomatology, 2021Orthodontic tooth movement inevitably affects adjacent periodontal tissue. The labiobuccal alveolar bone is generally thin, and patients with dental crowding often present alveolar dehiscence and fenestration. These may lead to prolonged treatment time, even gingival atrophy, tooth loosening and other complications in the orthodontic tooth movement ...

Shanghai kou qiang yi xue = Shanghai journal of stomatologyTo investigate the application value of periodontal microsurgery in accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO).A total of 100 patients with the need of PAOO surgery before orthodontic treatment due to the lack of alveolar bone in the mandibular anterior area were selected and randomly divided into microsurgery group and control group with 50 cases in ...

Periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics combined with autogenous bone grafting.
Compendium of continuing education in dentistry (Jamesburg, N.J. : 1995), 2008This case report documents the first use of particulate autogenous bone graft with the corticotomy-assisted rapid orthodontic procedure known as periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO). A 41-year-old man, with class II, division 2 crowded occlusion, was treated with the PAOO procedure.
