Enhancing Bactericidal Activity of Bovine Lymphoid Cells During the Periparturient Period
The antibacterial activity of bovine lymphocytes was evaluated following in vitro stimulation with interleukin-2. Mononuclear cells were isolated from the blood, lymph node, and mammary parenchymal tissue of four lactating and four periparturient dairy cows.

Plasma Estradiol in Holstein and Beef Cows During the Periparturient Period
Abstract Plasma estradiol, measured by radio-immunoassay, was compared in Holstein and beef cows during the periparturient period. A disposable Celite column was used for separation of estrogens. The antibody-estrogen complex was separated by charcoal and centrifugation.

Circulating levels of adipokines and hormones in periparturient primiparous Sahiwal cows
The circulating levels of adipokines and other hormones were determined in periparturient Sahiwal cows. Blood samples were collected from 6 Sahiwal cows during periparturient period (–30 to +90 days) at 15 days interval.
