Evidence for the existence of a subsinus layer of the peripheral cortex in the lymph node of the rat
Cell and Tissue Research, 1985The peripheral cortex of a lymph node consists of folliculo-nodules (follicles with a nodule or germinal center) and an extrafollicular zone. In the course of an analysis of the nodes in rats under various experimental or abnormal conditions, our attention became focused on the particularities of a thin layer of peripheral cortex underlying the ...

Scaling laws of peripheral mixing of passive scalar in a wall-shear layer
Physical Review E, 2011The scaling laws governing the concentration moments of a passive scalar released from a ground-level localized source in a neutrally stratified wall-shear layer are investigated using a theoretical framework recently formulated by Lebedev and Turitsyn [Phys. Rev. E 69, 036301 (2004)].

The construction of multi-layered melancholy in peripheral Tel Aviv
Emotion, Space and Society, 2019Abstract Based on the feminist theory of intersectionality, with a specific focus on emotions, this article proposes the concept of “multi-layered melancholy” to describe the feeling of sadness that emerges during personal or collective loss following spatial, ethnic, and gender inequality among a discriminated group of citizens who are located at ...

3D-Printed PCL/rGO Conductive Scaffolds for Peripheral Nerve Injury Repair.
Artificial Organs, 2018The incidence of peripheral nerve injuries is on the rise and the current gold standard for treatment of such injuries is nerve autografting. Given the severe limitations of nerve autografts which include donor site morbidity and limited supply, neural ...

The effect of CD4 puffing on the peripheral scrape-off layer in JET
Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 2002A connection has been found between puffing of CD4 at the outer mid-plane of JET and a rise in scrape-off layer (SOL) peripheral electron density. This observation led to the proposal that CD4 puffing might be used to improve lower hybrid coupling in optimized shear discharges. Results described elsewhere have demonstrated that this is indeed the case.

Peripheral-layer viscosity and microstructural effects on the capillary-tissue fluid exchange
Mathematical Biosciences, 1982Abstract A theoretical investigation of capillary-tissue fluid exchange has been studied including the characteristics and influence of the boundaries and media through which the fluid flows. Filtration from a cylindrical capillary into the concentrically surrounding tissue space and flow from a capillary into the tissue across a thin membrane are ...

Dispersion phenomena of reactive solute in a pulsatile flow of three-layer liquids
, 2017This study aims at investigating the dispersion process in an oscillatory flow of a layered liquid. The liquid is considered as a three-layer liquid where the center region is the Casson liquid surrounded by a Newtonian liquid layer flowing through a ...
