Diabetes and total knee arthroplasty: A nationwide analysis of complications, hospitalization outcomes and revision burden

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, Volume 33, Issue 9, Page 3250-3260, September 2025.
Abstract Purpose Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a frequently performed surgical procedure aimed at reducing pain, improving mobility, and restoring function in patients with advanced knee osteoarthritis. Cemented mobile‐bearing medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty provides long‐term implant survival and sustained functional performance in young and active patients aged 60 or below

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, Volume 33, Issue 9, Page 3324-3332, September 2025.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate long‐term outcomes of cemented, mobile‐bearing medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) in patients aged 60 or younger, focusing on implant survival, functional results, patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs), and radiographic findings over >10 years.

Metal sensitivity in total joint arthroplasty: None of the current diagnostic tests are reliable, sensitive and specific enough to guide treatment decisions!

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, Volume 33, Issue 9, Page 3269-3285, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Purpose This systematic review was conducted to evaluate the current literature on metal hypersensitivity in patients undergoing joint arthroplasty. The Prognostic Role of Perioperative Dexamethasone in Aseptic Revision Hip Arthroplasty—A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 9, Page 2570-2578, September 2025.
We showed for the first time that perioperative administration of dexamethasone in patients undergoing aseptic revision hip arthroplasty can relieve postoperative pain, prevent PONV, and provide inflammation control without increasing the risk of surgical‐site wound infections or dislocation.

A Novel “Personalized Safe Zone” for Acetabular Cup Placement During Total Hip Arthroplasty in Patients With Spinopelvic Pathology: Concept, Construction, and Clinical Application

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 9, Page 2596-2607, September 2025.
This study aimed to reveal the risk factors of acetabular cup placement during THA in patients with pinopelvic pathology, construct and validate a novel “Personalized Safe Zone” based on the Hip‐Spine Classification System. Our results showed that these parameters related to prosthesis dislocation, including ΔSS, |PI‐LL|, CA, CSI should be emphasized ...
