Peritoneal carcinomatosis mimicking a peritoneal tuberculosis
Symptoms of a peritoneal progression from ovarian cancer are nonspecific such as abdominal pain, abdominal distention and more. Many imaging studies and serum CA-125 help diagnosis. However, it is difficult to exclude the instances of the diffuse peritoneal diseases that mimic carcinomatosis.

Role of galectin-3 combined with multi-detector contrast enhanced computed tomography in predicting disease recurrence in patients with ovarian cancer [PDF]
Galectin-3 (Gal-3) is an endogenous β-galactoside-binding lectin, playing an important role in the pathogenesis of multiple malignancies. Aim of the study was to evaluate in a group of patients treated for ovarian cancer (EOC), the role of Gal-3 ...

Advanced ovarian cancer has a poor prognosis largely due to chemoresistance driven by ATP‐binding cassette (ABC) drug efflux transporters, especially P‐glycoprotein (P‐gp, or ABCB1). While photodynamic therapy (PDT) with FDA‐approved benzoporphyrin derivative (BPD) can inhibit ABC transporters, BPD alone lacks cancer selectivity.
