Pyloric Pseudonecrosis Caused by Biliary Peritonitis: A Rare Intraoperative Pitfall

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Biliary peritonitis can cause subserosal bile staining that mimics pyloric or duodenal necrosis. When endoscopy or ICG fluorescence is unavailable, pseudonecrosis remains an operative diagnosis of exclusion, supported by preserved serosal integrity, absence of visible perforation, careful inspection, and uneventful 1‐month follow‐up.

Peripheral Lymphocyte Subsets Predict Efficacy and Overall Survival in Gastric Cancer Patients Receiving Preoperative Chemotherapy: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 9, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Pathologic complete response (pCR), which reflects the local immune status and preoperative chemotherapy efficacy, has garnered significant attention in gastric cancer research. However, the predictive value of peripheral lymphocyte subsets for pCR in gastric cancer patients receiving preoperative chemotherapy remains unclear.

Integrated Metabolomic and Bioenergetic Profiling Reveals Axl as a Key Regulator of Macrophage Homeostasis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 10, October 2026.
Axl deficiency disrupts peritoneal macrophage identity and function, impairing glycolysis, TCA metabolism, and mitochondrial respiration while weakening antioxidant defenses. This coordinated metabolic and redox collapse extends systemically, highlighting Axl as a key regulator of immunometabolic homeostasis.

Laparoscopic Methylene Blue Photodynamic Therapy for Intraabdominal Infection: A Preclinical Feasibility Study in a Rabbit Model of Perforated Appendicitis

open access: yesLasers in Surgery and Medicine, Volume 58, Issue 8, Page 644-655, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Perforated appendicitis commonly results in intra‐abdominal infection requiring prolonged antibiotic therapy. Intraoperative antimicrobial adjuncts are limited, and photodynamic therapy (PDT) may provide a targeted, resistance‐independent approach.

Tripterine Liposome Exerts Antitumor and Immunomodulatory Effects in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
Tripterine liposome (TP‐lipo) exerts anti‐pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) effects through direct suppression of tumor cells and modulation of the tumor microenvironment (TME). TP‐lipo induces apoptosis and inhibits the clonogenicity, migration, and invasion of KPC cells in vitro.
