A Transcriptional Variant of Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase Promotes Apoptosis in Ovarian High‐Grade Serous Carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Carcinogenesis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The current study aims to delineate the role of a novel anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) transcript, ALKATI, in ovarian high‐grade serous carcinoma (HGSC). Overexpressed ALKATI exhibited both cytoplasmic and nuclear localization in HGSC cells, whereas full‐length ALK was predominantly cytoplasmic.

Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Malignant Pericardial Mesothelioma

open access: yesMed Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary malignant pericardial mesothelioma (PMPM), a rare pericardium‐derived malignancy, urgently requires standardized diagnostic and therapeutic protocols. This consensus, established by the Chinese Alliance of Research for Mesothelioma (ChARM) through the integration of evidence‐based research and multicenter clinical expertise, addresses ...

Surgical Management of a High‐Grade Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor in a Morbidly Obese Patient: A Case Study

open access: yesMedicine Advances, EarlyView.
This case study details the successful resection of a GEJ GIST in a high body mass index patient using an innovative surgical approach. Given the increasing prevalence of obesity, understanding and improving surgical approaches in these patients becomes paramount in preventing surgical morbidity. ABSTRACT Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the

Mucinous cystic neoplasms and simple mucinous cysts are two distinct precursors of pancreatic cancer: clinicopathological, genomic, and transcriptomic characterization

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract Mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCNs) of the pancreas are macroscopic precursors of pancreatic cancer. A similar cystic lesion but lacking the ovarian‐type subepithelial stroma has been recently defined as a simple mucinous cyst (SMC); however, its nature remains unclear. This study aims to define the clinicopathological and molecular profiles of a
