Abstract Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) is a metabolically active visceral fat depot located between the myocardium and the visceral pericardium, exerting direct paracrine and vasocrine effects on the heart and coronary vessels. Under physiological conditions, EAT supports myocardial energy metabolism and thermoregulation through fatty acid supply and

Roles of perivascular adipose tissue in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis : an update on recent findings [PDF]
Lifestyle-related diseases, such as atherosclerosis and diabetes, are now considered to be a series of diseases caused by chronic inflammation. Adipose tissue is considered to be an endocrine organ that not only plays a role in lipid storage, heat ...

Findings on Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Neuroborreliosis—A Nationwide Cohort Study
Key MRI findings in neuroborreliosis include leptomeningeal, cranial nerve, and nerve root enhancement, often without corresponding symptoms. Spinal cord lesions were relatively frequent and white matter lesions were non‐specific and associated with increasing age.

ABSTRACT Periodontitis is one of the most common oral inflammatory diseases. Baiyaojian decoction, known for its prominent immunomodulatory and anti‐inflammatory properties, shows significant potential in treating periodontitis, though its molecular mechanisms remain unknown. The active ingredients and therapeutic targets were determined by integrating

Deep Learning-based Post Hoc CT Denoising for the Coronary Perivascular Fat Attenuation Index
Rationale and Objectives Coronary inflammation related to high-risk hemorrhagic plaques can be captured by the perivascular fat attenuation index (FAI) using coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA). Since the FAI is susceptible to image noise, we believe deep learning (DL)-based post hoc noise reduction can improve diagnostic capability.
