Evaluation of expanded perlite behavior in PS/Perlite composites
Applied Clay Science, 2019Abstract In this study, composites based on PS/Perlite were prepared with 10 (P10) and 20 (P20) wt% of perlite by melt mixing in a twin screw extruder. The perlite effect was assessed by the composites morphological, thermal, mechanical and rheological properties. The photographs obtained by SEM revealed that some perlite's particles broke during the

Surface Titrations of Perlite Suspensions
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1998The surface charge behaviour of unexpanded and expanded perlite samples in KNO3 and NaCl solutions were investigated as a function of pH and ionic strength. The solutions of KNO3 and NaCl ranging from 10(-3) to 1.0 M were used. The potentiometric titration method was used to determine the surface charge of perlite samples.

Removal of Hexane in Biofilters Packed with Perlite and a Peat–Perlite Mixture
World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2004Removal of hexane from air–hexane mixtures in biofilters packed with different solid media under nitrogen supplementation was performed for 70 days. Two columns containing Perlite or a mixture of peat and Perlite, were used. The solid media were supplemented with nitrogen source up to 1 kg/m3 per week for high nutrient supplementation and 0.2 kg/m3 per

Pulmonary Function in Perlite Workers
Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, 1976Pulmonary function was studied in 117 men employed in three plants engaged in the mining and processing of perlite. Of these, 38 had been employed for ten years or more; 18 for 15 years or more and four men for 20 years or more. Review of chest films confirmed previous studies which showed no changes indicative of pneumoconiosis.

THE PRODUCTION OF PROTECTED STRAWBERRIES IN PERLITE
Acta Horticulturae, 1997Perlite has been used for the production of glasshouse tomatoes in Scotland for many years, techniques of watering and feeding are well developed. The use of once-used bags for strawberry production has been developed over the last five years with considerable success.
