Application of VESYS3AM in Characterization of Permanent Deformation
International Journal of Pavement Engineering, 2000The mechanistic system rutting model VESYS3AM was used to predict the rutting performance of three full-scale accelerated pavement test pads. Since the VESYS3AM system rutting model is not formulated to calculate layer rutting, a method was devised to extract the information by manipulating the layer input rutting parameters.

Permanent Deformation of a Granular Base Material
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 1999An approach to the characterization of unbound pavement materials for mechanistic analysis of pavements is presented. To predict permanent deformation, it is necessary to evaluate the residual properties of the materials. A method for evaluation of both the resilient and residual properties from repeated load testing is recommended.

Development and Calibration of Permanent Deformation Models
2016As part of the first accelerated pavement tests completed in Costa Rica, laboratory permanent deformation tests were performed on asphalt mixture, granular base and soil samples from the test sections. The objective of this study was to calibrate prediction models using measured rutting data collected from instrumented flexible pavements.

Characteristics and Prediction of Permanent Deformation in HMA
Performance Modeling and Evaluation of Pavement Systems and Materials, 2009Permanent deformation (rutting) in the asphalt pavement is one of the main reasons for pavement damage. The focus of this paper is to study the factors affecting the permanent deformation by tri-axial creep test and the permanent deformation predicting of asphalt pavement. Four popular asphalt mixtures, AC13F, AC13C, AC16 and AC20 were chosen to do the

Permanent deformation of polymer modified bitumen
2012Bitumen (BIT) has been used in most road applications for many decades as the binder for asphalt. The most common distresses directly associated with the binder phase in road are a permanent deformation known as rutting and thermal cracking. This has resulted in the need to improve the properties of existing bitumen.

Permanent Displacement and Deformation of Liquefied Subsoil
2008In 1984 a permanent lateral displacement was detected in a gentle slope in Noshiro City where a substantial liquefaction developed at the time of the 1983 Nihonkai Chubu earthquake (Hamada et al. 1986). Since the displacement was significant, exceeding 4 m at maximum, gas pipelines embedded in the area were broken in such manners as separation at ...

Permanent deformation of asphalt mixes
2007This dissertation describes the results of a research that was conducted on the permanent deformation of asphalt mixtures. Central to this research was the separate characterization of the contribution of the aggregate skeleton and the bituminous mortar towards resistance to permanent deformation.

The effect of clasp form on permanent deformation.
The International journal of prosthodontics, 1992This study was conducted to discover whether a relationship exists between clasp width-thickness ratios and wear or deformation. Five different forms of circumferential clasps were studied. The clasps were fabricated with a 160 degree curvature around an 8-mm (diameter) cylinder and cast in Ticonium alloy.

Stress studies for permanent deformation calculations
2008An analytical-mechanistic method for the calculation of permanent deformations in unbound pavement layers and subgrade has recently been developed in Technical Research Centre of Finland. The objective was to develop a relatively simple calculation method with a material model, which tie together permanent deformations to the most important effecting ...
