Slip Blinds at Pressures Causing Permanent Deformation

Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology, 2005
Slip blinds are frequently used for hydrotesting piping. In addition, when maintaining equipment or piping, the equipment or piping must be isolated to ensure a safe working environment. Separating flange pairs and inserting a blind flange against the process side prevents hazardous substances from entering the work area. Slip blinds are often used for

Development and Calibration of Permanent Deformation Models

2016
As part of the first accelerated pavement tests completed in Costa Rica, laboratory permanent deformation tests were performed on asphalt mixture, granular base and soil samples from the test sections. The objective of this study was to calibrate prediction models using measured rutting data collected from instrumented flexible pavements.

Permanent Displacement and Deformation of Liquefied Subsoil

2008
In 1984 a permanent lateral displacement was detected in a gentle slope in Noshiro City where a substantial liquefaction developed at the time of the 1983 Nihonkai Chubu earthquake (Hamada et al. 1986). Since the displacement was significant, exceeding 4 m at maximum, gas pipelines embedded in the area were broken in such manners as separation at ...
