This paper reports the design, fabrication and experimental characterization of ultraminiaturized, axial-flux, permanent-magnet (PM) generators intended for milliwatt range systems. The miniaturization of PM machines is attractive because scaling laws are favorable, but integration of ultra-small permanent magnets is challenging.
