A Thorough Procedure to Design Surface-Mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generators

open access: yesMachines
This paper sets forth a thorough procedure to design surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous generators. Since synchronous generators generate the majority of electrical energy, their relevance in society nowadays is substantial.

Coherent Control of Nitrogen Nuclear Spins via the VB−${\rm V}_B^-$‐Center in Hexagonal Boron Nitride

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates coherent control of 15N nuclear spins coupled to VB−${\text{V}}_{\text{B}}^{-}$ centers in isotope‐enriched hexagonal boron nitride. Selective addressing via spin‐state mixing enables Rabi driving, quantum gates, and coherence times exceeding 10 μs$\umu{\rm s}$.

Universal Electronic‐Structure Relationship Governing Intrinsic Magnetic Properties in Permanent Magnets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Permanent magnets derive their extraordinary strength from deep, universal electronic‐structure principles that control magnetization, anisotropy, and intrinsic performance. This work uncovers those governing rules, examines modern modeling and AI‐driven discovery methods, identifies critical bottlenecks, and reveals electronic fingerprints shared ...

Design of a Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Generator for a 2 MW Gearless Horizontal-Axis Wind Turbine According to its Capability Curves

open access: yesIranian Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2015
Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Generators (PMSGs) exhibit high efficiency and power density, and have already been employed in gearless wind turbines. In the gearless wind turbines, due to the removal of the gearbox, the cogging torque is an important ...

Variable-speed Generators with Flux Weakening [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A cost-competitive, permanent-magnet 20 kW generator is designed such that the following criteria are satisfied: an (over) load capability of at least 30 kW over the entire speed range of 60-120 rpm, generator weight of about 550 lbs with a maximum ...
