Non-linear MPC for winding loss optimised torque control of anisotropic PMSM

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
For a non-linear anisotropic permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM), a prediction model for model predictive control (MPC) considering effects like cross-coupling and saturation is developed in a straight forward procedure.

Magnetically Nonlinear Dynamic Models of Synchronous Machines and Experimental Methods for Determining Their Parameters

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
This paper deals with rotary and linear synchronous reluctance machines and synchronous permanent magnet machines. It proposes a general method appropriate for determining the two-axis dynamic models of these machines, where the effects of slotting ...

Analytical and experimental study for characteristic analysis of permanent magnet linear synchronous machines with horizontally magnetized PMs [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
This paper deals with analytical and experimental study of permanent magnet linear synchronous machines with horizontally magnetized permanent magnets. Six subdomains are defined as analysis domains considering end effects, slotting effects, and flux pass iron poles.

A Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine with Mechanically Controlled Excitation Flux

open access: yesEnergies
This paper presents the initial design of a permanent magnet synchronous machine with mechanically controlled excitation flux using the linear sliding motion of an additional excitation source placed inside a hollow shaft in the rotor. A new rotor design

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Detent Force Minimization of Double-Sided Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Machine with 120° Phase Belt Toroidal Windings by Slot-Shift Structure

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Double-sided permanent magnet linear synchronous machine with 120° phase belt toroidal windings (120°-TWDSPMLSM) suffers from large detent force due to the end effect and slot effect.

Performance enhancement of PMSM using a hybridizing of nonlinear backstepping control and an optimized linear quadratic regulator

open access: yesEnergy Exploration & Exploitation
An important characteristic of permanent magnet synchronous machines is that they are extremely efficient due to the absence of rotor losses, such as in induction motors, and the use of permanent magnets for field excitation.

Extended Poincaré model and non‐linear analysis of permanent‐magnet synchronous motor scalar drive system

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2022
In this paper, bifurcation diagrams, modified Poincaré map and Lyapunov exponents characteristic are developed for studying non‐linear phenomenon in dynamics of permanent‐magnet synchronous machine scalar drive systems (PMSMSDS).
