Permanent magnet magnetization state estimation using high frequency signal injection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Permanent magnet (PM) magnetization state estimation is important both for torque control and monitoring in conventional permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs). Furthermore, this can be critical for variable flux machines (VFM).

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Improved analytical model for predicting the magnetic field distribution in brushless permanent-magnet machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A general analytical technique predicts the magnetic field distribution in brushless permanent magnet machines equipped with surface-mounted magnets. It accounts for the effects of both the magnets and the stator windings.

Rotor resonances of high-speed permanent-magnet brushless machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
For high-speed machines, in particular, it is very important to accurately predict natural frequencies of the rotor at the design stage so as to minimize the likelihood of failure.
