Linearisation of permanent magnet synchronous motor model

2006 India International Conference on Power Electronics, 2006
Linearisation of a nonlinear system allows a simple fixed controller to be applied for the control of the linearised system. In this paper, a new method of linearisation of permanent magnet (PM) synchronous machine model is proposed. The proposed method, removes the dominant quadratic nonlinearity of the model as well as higher order terms involving ...

Core loss in buried magnet permanent magnet synchronous motors

IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 1989
The steady-state core-loss characteristics of buried-magnet synchronous motors operating from a sinusoidal constant frequency voltage supply are investigated. Measured and calculated core loss, with constant shaft load, is shown to increase with decreasing terminal voltage due to an increase in armature reaction-induced stator flux-density time ...

Permanent magnet synchronous motor thermal analysis

6th IET International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD 2012), 2012
Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) are used in a great variety of applications such as: electric toys, electric tools, medical/chemical industries, centrifuges at high speed, vehicle applications (motor starters), robot applications etc. All these have in common small size, high energy density, increased torque for a large speed range, high ...

Induced pole permanent magnet synchronous motor

2017 International Symposium on Electrical Machines (SME), 2017
The paper deals with induced pole line start permanent magnet synchronous motor. Construction of 4-pole motor is presented. The motor is based on standard IE1 induction motor Sh90L-4 1.5 kW 400 V 50 Hz. Running and starting properties were examined.

Permanent magnet excited synchronous motors

Electrical Engineering, 1955
FRACTIONAL-HORSEPOWER synchronous motors are generally available for quantity production in only the reluctance or hysteresis types. The reasons for this are: the simplicity of their rotor constructions, because of the omission of d-c excitation; and the possibility of assembling the rotors of either type in standard induction motor frames ...

Sensorless permanent magnet synchronous motor drives

CCECE '97. Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering. Engineering Innovation: Voyage of Discovery. Conference Proceedings, 2002
Permanent magnet (PM) synchronous motors are gaining wide recognition over other types of motors in drive systems, mainly due to their inherently advantageous features. For successful operation of PM motor drives, position and speed sensing are of critical importance.

Five-Phase Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor

IEEE Latin America Transactions, 2017
This paper presents the mathematical model of a five phase interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (5IPMSM) with sinusoidal back electromotive force in abcde frame. The 5 phase reference frame is transformed into two fictitious orthogonal sets termed as dq and x1y10 reference frame. Also, the develop torque is obtained in dq reference frame.

The Study of Permanent Magnet Demagnetization in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

2021 IEEE International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering and Computer Applications (AEECA), 2021
Permanent magnet demagnetization is one of the common faults of permanent magnet synchronous motor, which seriously threatens the safe and reliable operation of the motor and reduces the service life of the motor. Based on the principle of permanent magnet demagnetization, this paper analyzes the causes of irreversible permanent magnet demagnetization.

Modelling of permanent magnet synchronous motors

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1986
A permanent magnet motor with power semiconductor supply and shaft position sensing can be constructed using radially- directed high energy magnets on its rotor. This paper presents equivalent circuit models for such motors. The model parameters are related to the motor structure and dimensions.
