The goal of this paper is to present some of the methods for reducing the cogging torque present in permanent magnet synchronous motors PMSM. Some of the methods we analyzed: optimal selection of the stator`s pitch number and the poles number, the optimization of the geometry of the rotor’s pole and the skewing of the stator or skewing of the magnetic ...

An energy loss model based temperature estimation for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM)
2016 2nd International Conference on Advances in Electrical, Electronics, Information, Communication and Bio-Informatics (AEEICB), 2016This paper proposes a method for stator and rotor temperature estimation based on energy model for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) used in hybrid electric vehicle. The temperature behavior is obtained from motor losses and cooling system model. The losses in stator and rotor is calculated separately.

The flux weakening has become essential in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) control to expand the speed range. So many works had been made in this topic last years, but, they are rare studies that take into account the magnetic saturation, and talk about optimization of flux weakening space.

In highly automated electric vehicles, the reliability of the electrical powertrain system is very important. A fault of a current sensor should be detected in an early stage to avoid a critical failure, which would lead to breakdown of the vehicle. This paper focuses on the gain fault of a current sensor on a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM)

Dual Field Oriented Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) Drive Using a Single DSP Controller
Twenty-First Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2006. APEC '06., 2006Traditionally high performance drives utilized dedicated controllers to perform complicated mathematical operations. However, several factors are rapidly changing this scenario. The current DSP controllers can now integrate a variety of sophisticated peripherals.
