인공 심박조율기를 이식하기 위해서는 자격을 갖춘 의사와 시술에 필요한 장비 및 시설이 필수적이다. 시 술의사는 적어도 일년에 10례이상 인공 심박조율기를 시술하고 있어야 하며 장비와 시설로서는 적절한 해 상도를 가진 방사선 투시 장치, 심전도 감시 및 직류 충격기, 심박조율기 분석기, 수술 기구, 혈관유도관 (vascular introducer sheath), pulse oximeter 등이 필요하다. 1. 수술전 평가 시술 전에 환자 상태를 다시 한번 재점검하여야 한 다. 의무기록, 현 병력 및 과거 병력 청취, 신체검사, 검사실 검사 결과 등을 재검토하고 인공 심박조율기 적응증이 무엇인지 재확인한다.
