Frozen section diagnosis for non‐melanoma skin cancers: correlation with permanent section diagnosis
Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 2015Frozen section pathology is routinely used for margin assessment of non‐melanoma skin cancer (NMSC). Frozen section can also be used for the primary diagnosis of several skin lesions. Limited data exist on the accuracy of frozen section in the diagnosis of NMSC.

Permanent preparations of stained whole‐body sections using ‘Trycolac‘
Journal of Microscopy, 1973SUMMARYPermanent preparations of whole‐body sections cut by Ullberg's technique can be prepared using a ‘spray‐on’ mountant (‘Trycolac’), which does away with the necessity for glass slides and coverslips. Routine staining methods can be used, providing the alcohol content of the stain is low.

Comparison of MART-1 Frozen Sections to Permanent Sections Using a Rapid 19-Minute Protocol
Dermatologic Surgery, 2009The use of melanoma-associated antigen recognized by T cells (MART-1) immunostain has been proposed as a useful adjunct to overcome the inherent difficulties in the use of frozen sections during Mohs surgery for the treatment of melanoma, but no studies have compared MART-1 frozen sections with MART-1 permanent sections. Current MART-1 1-hour protocols

Thin section analysis of earthworm burrow disintegration in a permanent pasture
Geoderma, 1997Abstract Earthworm burrow systems are dynamic in nature; active earthworms create burrows, while other burrows disintegrate. Thin sections, made from soil samples taken at 2.5 and 22.5 cm depth in a chronosequence (0 to 7.3 yr) of burrow systems developed in a permanent pasture, were studied to assess the processes responsible for the disintegration ...

A Simplified Method of Preparing Permanent Tissue Sections for the Erythrocyte Adherence Test
American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1981A method of preparing permanent sections of tissue for the erythrocyte adherence test using glutaraldehyde fixation and polylysine as the bonding agent is described. This method enables rapid staining with hematoxylin and eosin without loss of indicator erythrocytes.
