Permanent Optically-Induced Strain in hBN
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2021We demonstrate the creation of permanent, localized strain structures in hBN with a phonon-resonant femtosecond laser at 7.3 µm. We spatially resolve the strain profile of the resulting micron-scale bubbles using Raman and AFM measurements.

Permanent draft genome of ‘Rhodopirellula islandica’ strain K833
Marine Genomics, 2015The planctomycete strain K833 was isolated from cold waters at the coast of Island and is tentatively named 'Rhodopirellula islandica'. It has a lower temperature range for growth than other genome-sequenced Rhodopirellula strains affiliating to Rhodopirellula baltica and 'Rhodopirellula europaea'. The permanent draft genome of strain K833 was obtained

Permanent draft genomes of the Rhodopirellula maiorica strain SM1
Marine Genomics, 2014The genome of Rhodopirellula maiorica strain SM1 was sequenced as a permanent draft to complement the full genome sequence of the type strain Rhodopirellula baltica SH1(T). This isolate is part of a larger study to infer the biogeography of Rhodopirellula species in European marine waters, as well as to amend the genus description of R. baltica.

Characteristics of HeLa strains: Permanent vs. variable features
Cytogenetics and Cell Genetics, 2008Characteristic rearranged human chromosome markers have been observed in a variety of HeLa cell sublines and in five suspected HeLa contaminant lines originally thought to be derived from differentiated tissues of different individual patients. The allozyme genetic signatures, representing the composite enzyme phenotype at eight polymorphic loci, of ...

ANNEALING STRAINS IN GLASS AND THEIR DEGREE OF PERMANENCE*
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1945A bstract A statistical comparison has been made of 13 sets of measurements of optical path difference, taken over a seven‐year period, on 24 samples of the standardized disks distributed in 1938 to the manufacturers of glass containers.

Permanent Strain Behavior of Marginal Granular Material
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2017To better understand the marginality of marginal granular materials (i.e., an aggregate that does not fully meet a premium quality specification), this study investigated the permanent strain behavior of two granular materials with different geological and mineralogical characteristics under repeated loading and different moisture conditions.
