Multiple impacted teeth may be related to syndromes and metabolic disorders. In some cases, however, impaction of multiple teeth is not accompanied by a fixed complex of symptoms. A 55-year-old woman attended our clinic, as she was not comfortable with her prosthetic appliances because of erupted teeth.

Among 14,940 Evanston and Oak Park, Illinois, white and Negro students 11 to 15 years of age, there were 521 children in whom permanent teeth were congenitally missing. The incidence, frequency, and combinations of congenitally missing teeth were studied. An overall incidence of 3.49 was found.
