Permeability enhancement of Kv1.2 potassium channel by a terahertz electromagnetic field

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2023
As biomolecules vibrate and rotate in the terahertz band, the biological effects of terahertz electromagnetic fields have drawn considerable attention from the physiological and medical communities. Ion channels are the basis of biological electrical signals, so studying the effect of terahertz electromagnetic fields on ion channels is significant.

Electromagnetic Monitoring of Hydraulic Fracturing: Relationship to Permeability, Seismicity, and Stress

Surveys in Geophysics, 2017
Hydraulic fracking is a geoengineering application designed to enhance subsurface permeability to maximize fluid and gas flow. Fracking is commonly used in enhanced geothermal systems (EGS), tight shale gas, and coal seam gas (CSG) plays and in $$\hbox {CO}_2$$

Simultaneous Conductivity and Permeability Reconstructions for Electromagnetic Tomography Using Deep Learning

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2023
Electromagnetic tomography (EMT) is a research hotspot in electrical tomography, which has wide application prospect for multiphase flow measurement. The existing EMT usually visualizes the distributions of conductivity or permeability separately.

Decoupling Conductivity and Permeability Using Sweep-Frequency Eddy Current Method

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2023
Electromagnetic coupling and liftoff variation are obstacles in the eddy current method. In this article, we proposed a sweep-frequency eddy current method to achieve conductivity and permeability simultaneous measurements immune to liftoff.

Electromagnetic—acoustic evaluation of the permeability of porous media

Acoustical Physics, 2001
The generation of ultrasound in a porous water-saturated medium subjected to rapid electromagnetic heating is considered. The irradiation provides the Joule heating of narrow and electrically high resistive pore throats, which interconnect cavities within the medium and, consequently, determine the permeability of the medium.

Electromagnetic Characterization of Hydraulic Fracture Shape and Permeability

Proceedings, 2015
Our numerical proof-of-concept studies demonstrate that surface electric field measurements can provide sensitivity to both the geometric distribution of injected conductive fluids and or conductively enhanced proppant as well as sensitivity to the created hydraulic permeability of the fracture zone.

Electromagnetic response of a permeable inhomogeneous conducting sphere

Geoexploration, 1973
Abstract Electromagnetic response of a two-layered spherical model to a dipolar field has been calculated considering the simultaneous influences of a permeable conducting cover, magnetic permeability contrast with the surrounding medium, and radial conductivity variation inside the core.

The impact of non-linear permeability on electromagnetic stator core tests

7th IET International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD 2014), 2014
Routine electromagnetic testing is used to detect developing faults in the stator cores of large electrical machines. However the non-linear permeability and hysteresis of electrical steel cause the development of harmonics in the magnetic field, potentially affecting fault interpretation.
