Prediction of permeate flux and concentration of two-component dye mixture in batch nanofiltration

Journal of Membrane Science, 2003
Modeling of separation of two-component dye mixture has been carried out in an unstirred bath cell. Nanofiltration of a two-component industrial dye-house effluent containing reactive black dye (Cibacron Black B, molecular weight 924.5) and reactive red dye (Cibacron Red RB, molecular weight 855.5) has been considered using a 400 molecular weight cut ...

The Prediction of Heavy Metal Permeate Flux in Complexation-Microfiltration Process: Polynomial Neural Network Approach

Water, Air, & Soil Pollution, 2019
Membrane filtration techniques are distinguished among methods for wastewater treatment and fully correspond to the requirements of the green concept of chemistry and production. The limiting factor for greater application of these methods is the phenomenon of fouling and the decline of the permeate flux.

Prediction of red plum juice permeate flux during membrane processing with ANN optimized using RSM

Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, 2014
In this work, a three-layer artificial neural network (ANN) optimized by response surface methodology (RSM) was designed to predict the permeate flux of red plum juice during membrane clarification. The input parameters of the model were trans-membrane pressure (TMP), temperature, cross-flow velocity, pore size and processing time.

Prediction of permeate flux during electric field enhanced cross-flow ultrafiltration—A neural network approach

Separation and Purification Technology, 2009
Electric field enhanced cross flow ultrafiltration of aqueous solution of bovine serum albumin (BSA) has been carried out in a thin rectangular channel using 30,000 molecular weight cut-off membrane over a wide range of operating conditions. Detailed parametric study has been performed to observe the effect of feed concentration, electric field, cross ...

Prediction of specific permeate flux during crossflow microfiltration of polydispersed colloidal suspensions by fuzzy logic models

Desalination, 2010
Abstract Fuzzy logic models for time-variant specific fluxes during crossflow microfiltration of several feed suspensions under a wide range of hydrodynamic parameters were derived and validated. The coefficient of efficiency values, which quantifies the degree of agreement between experimental observations and numerically calculated values were ...

Utilization of a shear induced diffusion model to predict permeate flux in the crossflow ultrafiltration of macromolecules

Desalination, 2007
Abstract In this paper a shear-induced diffusion model is used to predict permeate flux decline with time in the ultrafiltration of macromolecules. The results estimated by the model were compared with the experimental results obtained in a pilot plant. Tubular ZrO 2 –TiO 2 ceramic membranes with a molecular weight cut-off of 15 kDa (Orelis, France)
