From Site Selection to Characterization: Assessment of Potential Reservoirs in the Lurestan Basin of Iran for Carbon Sequestration

open access: yesGreenhouse Gases: Science and Technology, Volume 15, Issue 3, Page 319-332, June 2025.
ABSTRACT The increasing global focus on carbon sequestration underscores the need for comprehensive CO2 storage atlases, extending beyond Europe and America to other countries that are significant contributors to carbon dioxide emissions. This article addresses this imperative by examining the CO2 storage potential in the Lurestan area of Iran, with a ...

The taxonomy of fossil lyginopteridalean fronds Eusphenopteris neuropteroides and their importance for understanding late Carboniferous floristic changes

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 74, Issue 3, Page 697-706, June 2025.
Abstract Lyginopteridalean fossil fronds found abundantly in deposits of the Pennsylvanian‐age (late Carboniferous) coal swamps have historically been identified as Eusphenopteris neuropteroides. However, these fossils have been referred by Van Amerom to three distinct fossil‐species: E. schumannii, E. neuropteroides and E. leonardii.

Insights Into Spatiotemporal Evolution of Induced Earthquakes in the Southern Delaware Basin Using Calibrated Relocations From the TexNet Catalog (2017–2022)

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 12, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract This study presents a comprehensive analysis of induced seismicity (2017–2022) and InSAR‐derived surface deformation in the southern Delaware basin. The relocated catalog features improved 3‐D locations for 5,453 events from the Texas Seismological Network through nested inversions, rigorous data calibration, and additional S‐P phase‐time ...

Magnetic and Paleomagnetic Characterization of the Ivrea‐Verbano Lower Crust Body (NW Italy): Assessing the Magnetization of Variscan‐Age Lower Crust

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract The source of high‐intensity magnetic anomalies from (mostly Precambrian) lower crust of continent interiors has long been debated, as it requires speculative rocks yielding 2–6 A/m magnetization. We report on the magnetic and paleomagnetic investigation of the Ivrea‐Verbano Zone (IVZ), Western Alps, where metamorphic and intrusive lower crust
