Dielectric response of a polar fluid trapped in a spherical nanocavity

open access: yes, 2006
We present extensive Molecular Dynamics simulation results for the structure, static and dynamical response of a droplet of 1000 soft spheres carrying extended dipoles and confined to spherical cavities of radii $R=2.5$, 3, and 4 nm embedded in a ...

Machine‐Learning‐Aided Advanced Electrochemical Biosensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electrochemical biosensors are highly sensitive, portable, and versatile. Advanced nanomaterials enhance their performance, while machine learning (ML) improves data analysis, minimizes interference, and optimizes sensor design. Despite progress in both fields, their combined potential in diagnostics remains underexplored.

Assessment of Long Thermal Ageing on the Oil-Paper Insulation

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2016
Electric power equipment has complex construction. Therefore, it is very important to have enough information about the state of equipment. High voltage transformers play a very important role in the electric power system. One of the most important parts

Scaling Up Purcell‐Enhanced Self‐Assembled Nanoplasmonic Perovskite Scintillators into the Bulk Regime

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a scalable approach to enhancing bulk scintillators using nanoplasmonics. By integrating 100‐nm silver nanoparticles with perovskite scintillator nanocrystals in a polymer matrix, significant improvements in light yield and decay rates via the Purcell effect are achieved.

Onsager model for a variable dielectric permittivity near an interface

open access: yes, 2003
Using a generalisation of an Onsager type approach, we are able to predict a dielectric permittivity profile of an inhomogeneous dipolar fluid in the presence of a dielectric interface.

Exceptional Thermal Conductivity in Printed Dielectrics through Compositional and Microstructural Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A multi‐generational compositional design creates a printable low‐loss dielectric composite that achieves over 16 W m−1 K−1. This breakthrough is enabled by thermal post‐processing, which promotes templated crystallization in a polymer matrix from surface‐modified particles, creating a “hetero‐percolated network.” The resulting material is three ...

Conducting polymer coated fabrics for potential applications in microwave frequencies : a study of electromagnetic properties

open access: yes, 2007
The microwave reflection, transmission and complex permittivity of paratoluene-2-sulfonic acid doped conducting polypyrrole (PPy/pTSA) coated Nylon-Lycra textiles in the 1-18 GHz frequency were investigated.

Optimization techniques for permittivity and permeability determination

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, 1991
This paper discusses optimization techniques for the determination of complex permittivity and permeability in transmission lines. The traditional theoretical model using scattering parameters is extended into a mathematical regression model that can be solved with widely accepted numerical techniques.
