Permittivity measurement of minerals

An electromagnetic logging tool moves along a borehole to measure continuously the complex dielectric permittivity of the rock formation. Dielectric properties of formation fluids and minerals are required to interpret the log. Methods to measure mineral permittivities are reviewed and experimental results are described for various particulate minerals.
