Permittivity of Polycrystalline Material

Ferroelectrics, 2013
Polycrystalline material is modeled as a close-packed structure composed of uniaxial grains (crystallites) of varying orientation, shape and size. Effective dielectric response of such systems can be described using the spectral representation. Its formal similarity to the isotropic 2–component composite provides the same description in the framework ...

The theories of complex permittivity [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1972
It is shown that the spectral density used by Scaife (1971) in his theory of complex permittivity is closely related to the autocorrelation function used by other authors and that both Scaife's equation and the equation in terms of autocorrelation functions follow immediately from the superposition principle.

The permittivity of heterogeneous mixtures

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1973
By using the double-ellipsoid model of Bilboul, two theoretical expressions have been derived for correlation of the permittivity of a heterogeneous mixture with the permittivities of its components for specific particle shapes. One of the equations is identical to that of Morabin et al (1967) derived under different considerations.

On retrieval of permittivity profile

Proceedings of 2001 3rd International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (IEEE Cat. No.01EX488), 2002
A new theoretical approach is proposed for solving the inverse problem of dielectric permittivity retrieval by a reflected field. It is based on the approximate solution of an integral equation, obtained by combining the integral equation for the electromagnetic field inside the object with an integral expression, which determines the diffracted field ...

ENHANCING THE DIELECTRIC PERMITTIVITY OF ELASTOMERS

2008
The electromechanical transduction properties of any dielectric elastomer are intrinsically regulated by the dielectric permittivity of the material. This parameter proportionally controls both the achievable active stresses and strains. Accordingly, a suitable increase of the material permittivity may provide a valuable means to improve the ...

Dielectric permittivity of suspensions

Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics, 2007
A strict macroscopic analysis of the limiting long-wavelength permittivity of a model suspension is presented in which the suspension is considered as a finely dispersed system consisting of isotropic dielectric balls with piecewise-continuous radial permittivity profile. The analysis is performed within the framework of the notion of compact groups of

The permittivity of polar dielectrics

Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2007
The best known works on the theory of permittivity of polar dielectrics are considered. Equations are obtained that relate the dipole moment of a molecule in a medium to substance permittivity and can be used in calculations of the polarization characteristics of rarefied gases and condensed polar dielectrics.

Measurement of the permittivity of dielectrics

Measurement Techniques, 1968
1. Our experimental investigations have shown that the accuracy in measuring the polarization parameters and determining the e value depends mainly on the error in calibrating the polarizing and the analyzing devices, which, in our case, did not exceed 5–7%. 2.

Dielectric Permittivity of BiTeI

Inorganic Materials, 2004
The dielectric permittivity and volume electron energy loss spectra of the ferroelectric semiconductor BiTeI are calculated for the E ⊥ c polarization in the range 0–12 eV. The spectra are decomposed into elementary components (13), and their principal parameters are evaluated.

Permittivity of composite composites

1999 Annual Report Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena (Cat. No.99CH36319), 2003
Composite composites are entities that are important in physics and engineering and are a class of compounds actively investigated for their dielectric properties. Such systems consist of composite inclusions multicomponent materials embedded in a matrix of a distinct material.
