Hemispherical dielectric permittivity cell

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1978
A three-terminal dielectric cell based on a hemispherical design is constructed for low-temperature measurements of dielectric permittivity. The cell has a small sample volume, is geometrically stable, and shows no frequency dependence of capacitance. Measurements on test samples are presented showing both cell constant stability data and the linearity

The complex permittivity of PEDOT:PSS

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2023
High permittivity materials are required for efficient organic photovoltaic devices, and the addition of the conjugated polymer composite poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophen) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) to dielectric polymers has been shown to significantly heighten their permittivity.

Confinement-Induced Enhancement of Parallel Dielectric Permittivity: Super Permittivity Under Extreme Confinement

The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters, 2020
Enhancement of parallel (x-y plane) dielectric permittivity of confined fluids has been shown previously. However, a theoretical model that explains this enhancement is lacking thus far. In this study, using statistical-mechanical theories and molecular dynamics simulations, we show an explicit relation between the parallel dielectric permittivity ...

Permittivity of suspensions

Optics and Spectroscopy, 2002
The permittivity of a suspension treated as a system of hard spheres is calculated in the Born approximation. The structure of the suspension is described by the Percus-Yevick correlation function. The permittivity of the system under consideration is expressed through a nonlocal susceptibility whose spatial extension is determined by the form factor ...

Electro-Optic Probes: High-Permittivity Crystals vs. Low-Permittivity Polymers

Ultrafast Electronics and Optoelectronics, 1995
Despite the success of external electro-optic (EO) probing in measuring ultrafast time-domain signals with an extremely large bandwidth [1], issues involving the invasiveness of the probe, the repeatability of the measured results, the ability to measure low-frequencies, and the calibration of voltage signals have served to impede the impact of EO ...
