Successive absorption and refraction of ultrathin molecular nano-films
Based on the formed model of nanofilm crystal structures, changes of optical properties due to the presence of borders for the case of symmetrical ultrathin films are theoretically investigated in this paper.

Effect of modifiers on the barium niobate-calcium ceramics structure
In this work, the ceramic samples Са0,3Ba0,7Nb2O6 pure and with modifying additives (5%) SrTiO3, KTaO3 or LiTaO3 were obtained by solid-phase synthesis. All studied compositions of ceramics revealed the presence of large and small grains.

Perfect absorption and giant magnification with a thin metamaterial layer [PDF]
It is shown that perfect absorption and giant amplification can be realized when a wave impinges on a special metamaterial layer with zero real parts of the permittivity and permeability.

Low permittivity epoxy nanoporous composites filled with hollow nanosilica
An epoxy nanoporous composite (NPC) filled with hollow nanosilica exhibits lower permittivity than unfilled epoxy resin. The hollow nanosilica is a silica nanoparticle containing a nanometric closed pore.

Complex effective permittivity of a lossy composite material [PDF]
In recent work, boundary integral equations and finite elements were used to study the (real) effective permittivity for two-component dense composite materials in the quasistatic limit.

Transmission Studies of Left-handed Materials
Left-handed materials are studied numerically using an improved version of the transfer-matrix method. The transmission, reflection, the phase of the reflection and the absorption are calculated and compared with experiments for both single split-ring ...

Microwave dielectric properties of horticultural peat products [PDF]
The microwave dielectric properties of horticultural peat and compost peat were measured with a HP85107C network analyser in conjunction with a HP85070B open-ended coaxial dielectric probe for the frequency range 0.5–20 GHz.

Microwave Interferometry Based On Open-ended Coaxial Technique for High Sensitivity Liquid Sensing
This paper describes a modified open-ended coaxial technique for microwave dielectric characterization in liquid media. A calibration model is developed to relate the measured transmission coefficient to the local properties of the sample under test.
