The permittivity of polar dielectrics
Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2007The best known works on the theory of permittivity of polar dielectrics are considered. Equations are obtained that relate the dipole moment of a molecule in a medium to substance permittivity and can be used in calculations of the polarization characteristics of rarefied gases and condensed polar dielectrics.

Dielectric Permittivity of BiTeI
Inorganic Materials, 2004The dielectric permittivity and volume electron energy loss spectra of the ferroelectric semiconductor BiTeI are calculated for the E ⊥ c polarization in the range 0–12 eV. The spectra are decomposed into elementary components (13), and their principal parameters are evaluated.

ENHANCING THE DIELECTRIC PERMITTIVITY OF ELASTOMERS
2008The electromechanical transduction properties of any dielectric elastomer are intrinsically regulated by the dielectric permittivity of the material. This parameter proportionally controls both the achievable active stresses and strains. Accordingly, a suitable increase of the material permittivity may provide a valuable means to improve the ...

Permittivity of composite composites
1999 Annual Report Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena (Cat. No.99CH36319), 2003Composite composites are entities that are important in physics and engineering and are a class of compounds actively investigated for their dielectric properties. Such systems consist of composite inclusions multicomponent materials embedded in a matrix of a distinct material.

Measurement of the permittivity of dielectrics
Measurement Techniques, 19681. Our experimental investigations have shown that the accuracy in measuring the polarization parameters and determining the e value depends mainly on the error in calibrating the polarizing and the analyzing devices, which, in our case, did not exceed 5–7%. 2.

Permittivity in Molecular Nanofilms
MRS Proceedings, 2007AbstractA microscopic theory of dielectrical properties of thin molecular films, i.e. quasi 2D systems bounded by two surfaces parallel to XY planes was formulated. Harmonic exciton states were calculated using the method of two-time, retarded, temperature dependent Green's functions.

A macroscopically homogeneous aggregate contains two materials A, B, with dielectric constants εA, εB, in volume ratio p: (1—p); what is the dielectric constant of the aggregate? By a method used by Yvon and others in molecular theory, this very old problem is formulated rigorously and solved in series form. One form of the solution is ε/ε′ = 1+⅓p(1—p)(

Biomass measurement by inductive permittivity
Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1997An electrodeless, inductive permittivity probe is shown to reliably indicate fermentation biomass. By designing the probe based on electromagnetic induction, the electrode polarization artifact-common to electrode-based permittivity measurements of conductive solutions-is eliminated. The measurement of viable biomass concentration (X(V)) is precise and

Permittivity of lithium hydride
Journal of the Chemical Society A: Inorganic, Physical, Theoretical, 1969The shorted-line method has been applied to the measurement of the permittivity of high-density, polycrystalline lithium hydride. Atca. 9370 MHz the permittivity was found to be 13·1. By use of this value in the Szigeti equation the effective ionic charge has been calculated to be 0·55 e.

Dipolar Correlations and the Dielectric Permittivity of Water
Physical Review Letters, 2007The static dielectric properties of liquid and solid water are investigated within linear response theory in the context of ab initio molecular dynamics. Using maximally localized Wannier functions to treat the macroscopic polarization we formulate a first-principles, parameter-free, generalization of Kirkwood's phenomenological theory.
