Plasmonic behavior of III-V semiconductors in far-infrared and terahertz range [PDF]
Background: In this article, III-V semiconductors are proposed as materials for far-infrared and terahertz plasmonic applications. We suggest criteria to estimate appropriate spectral range for each material including tuning by fine doping and magnetic ...

Free-Space Dielectric Property Measurement of Biological Tissues at W-Band Frequencies [PDF]
This paper presents a free-space measurement method for the dielectric properties of small biological tissues (in this study, micropig skins that are 60 mm × 60 mm in size and 1.4 mm in thickness are used) that do not meet the size requirement of ...

Monitoring insulator contamination level under dry condition with a microwave reflectometer [PDF]
—Build-up of surface contamination on high voltage insulators can lead to an increase in leakage current and partial discharge, which may eventually develop into flashover. Conventional contamination level monitoring systems based on leakage current,

Strongly Enhanced Sensitivity in Planar Microwave Sensors Based on Metamaterial coupling
Limited sensitivity and sensing range are arguably the greatest challenges in microwave sensor design. Recent attempts to improve these properties have relied on metamaterial- (MTM-) inspired open-loop resonators (OLRs) coupled to transmission lines (TLs)

Enhanced Strength and Corrosion Resistance of Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn Alloy by Aging Treatment
This work systematically investigates the effect of aging treatment on mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of vacuum arc‐melted Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn alloy. Owing to the increased α″ martensite, strength and corrosion resistance were significantly enhanced by aging treatment.

Complex Permittivity Measurements of Film-Type Materials: Effect of the Waveguide Flange
The flexibility and thinness of most film-type materials make it difficult to use conventional measurement methods such as those in international or organizational standards to accurately measure the complex permittivity of these materials.
