Considerations on measurement frequency of electromagnetic sensors for soil water content determination

open access: yesGeoderma
Electromagnetic (EM) sensors are widely used to measure soil water content for different applications. The dielectric response of soil over the operational frequency of EM sensors in the megahertz to gigahertz range can be affected by a number of factors

Neuromorphic Electronics for Intelligence Everywhere: Emerging Devices, Flexible Platforms, and Scalable System Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...

Miniaturized and Wide-Range Microwave-Permittivity Sensor Based on Electromagnetic-Induced Transparency

open access: yesPhotonics
In this paper, we had designed a microwave band permittivity sensor based on analog electromagnetic-induced transparency (A-EIT). By comparing the S-parameter changes of the tested sample before and after measurement, we can calculate the permittivity of

Resistance to Overdoping Allows Over 2000 S cm−1 Conductivity in P(g3BTTT) With Anion‐Exchange Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Anion‐exchange doping of conjugated polymers is an effective way to achieve high conductivities. Here, we report over 2000 S cm−1 electrical conductivity for doped P(g3BTTT). In addition, we show that P(g3BTTT) sustains exceptionally high doping levels without any drop in the charge mobility.

Rethinking Charge Transport and Recombination in Donor‐Diluted Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Organic solar cells with 1–45% PM6 content in Y12 were studied to link structure and charge dynamics to performance. The conductivity follows a 3D percolation model without a sharp threshold. Donor dilution preserves the photogeneration yield, but limits the fill factor due to transport resistance losses.

Ocean sensors - for marine environmental monitoring

open access: yes, 2010
Various sensors and instruments were developed to measure the chemical and physical properties of sea water, but many are expensive and too large to be used on mass deployed vehicles such as the Argo float and submersed gliders.

Large‐Scale Determination of Frontier Orbital Energies of Disordered Small‐Molecule Organic Semiconductors Using Exciplex Emission Spectra

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accurately knowing the frontier orbital energies of the structurally disordered small‐molecule organic semiconductors that are used in optoelectronic devices such as organic light‐emitting diodes is required to rationally improve their performance. Here, we show that these energies can be deduced with a large accuracy from the peak energies of

Tailoring Phonon‐Driven Responses in α‐MoO3 through Isotopic Enrichment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The implementation of polaritonic materials into nanoscale devices requires selective tuning of parameters to realize desired spectral or thermal responses. One robust material, α‐MoO3, an orthorhombic crystal boasting three distinct phonon dispersions, provides three polaritonic dispersions of hyperbolic phonon polaritons (HPhPs) across the ...
