Permutation Polynomials Modulo N
Based on preliminary numerical computations, we give complete results for linear and quadratic polynomials. Rivest’s result holds in the linear case while there are plenty of counterexamples in the quadratic case.

On the $\operatorname{rix}$ statistic and valley-hopping [PDF]
This paper studies the relationship between the modified Foata$\unicode{x2013}$Strehl action (a.k.a. valley-hopping)$\unicode{x2014}$a group action on permutations used to demonstrate the $\gamma$-positivity of the Eulerian polynomials$\unicode{x2014 ...

We present a general technique for obtaining permutation polynomials over a finite field from permutations of a subfield. By applying this technique to the simplest classes of permutation polynomials on the subfield, we obtain several new families of ...

Two-sided permutation statistics via symmetric functions
Given a permutation statistic $\operatorname {\mathrm {st}}$ , define its inverse statistic $\operatorname {\mathrm {ist}}$ by . We give a general approach, based on the theory of symmetric functions, for finding the joint distribution of

Symmetry classes of polynomials associated with the direct product of permutation groups [PDF]
Let $G_{i} $ be a subgroup of $ S_{m_{i}} , 1 leq i leq k$. Suppose $chi_{i}$ is an irreducible complex character of $G_{i}$. We consider $ G_{1}times cdots times G_{k} $ as subgroup of $ S_{m} $, where $ m=m_{1}+cdots +m_{k} $.

A New Plaintext-Related Image Encryption Scheme Based on Chaotic Sequence
In order to improve the image encryption system's ability to resist plaintext, noise, and data loss attacks, in this paper, a new plaintext-related and chaos-based image encryption scheme is proposed, which includes two rounds of encryption operations ...
