Common peroneal neuropathy and cancer
Internal Medicine Journal, 2012AbstractCommon peroneal neuropathy (CPN) may develop unexpectedly in patients with underlying cancer. To clarify the underlying pathophysiology, clinical and neurophysiological data were prospectively collected from 10 oncology clinic patients referred for neurological assessment after the onset of foot weakness.

Neurologic Clinics, 1999
The clinical and electrodiagnostic presentation of peroneal neuropathies are detailed in this article. There is a special emphasis on nerve conduction study findings and their relationship to prognosis and management. The differential diagnosis of foot drop, including when caused by the anterior compartmental syndrome of the leg, is also discussed.

Peroneal neuropathy after weight loss
Journal of the Peripheral Nervous System, 2000Abstract The objectives of this study were to evaluate the clinical and electrophysiological findings in peroneal mononeuropathies following a weight‐reduction diet. Thirty patients with acute peroneal palsy and weight loss were studied. Complete nerve conduction studies (NCS) were performed in upper and lower limbs.

Peroneal Neuropathy After Liver Transplantation
Transplantation Proceedings, 2008The incidence of peroneal neuropathy (PN), occurring predominantly in the left leg, increases after the incorporation of intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) devices among adult liver transplantation (OLT) recipients in our hospital. The aim of this study was to investigate the possible risk factors for PN and the reason for the left-leg ...

Common Peroneal Neuropathy due to Surfing
Journal of Child Neurology, 2000Common peroneal neuropathy is uncommon in children and adolescents. In this population, it is usually caused by direct nerve injury at the fibular head level. Most commonly, the nerve is damaged during sports-related blunt trauma. Other etiologies such as hereditary neuropathies and bone tumors are much less frequent.

Childhood peroneal neuropathy from bone tumors
Pediatric Neurology, 1991Nontraumatic childhood peroneal mononeuropathy is uncommon and should initiate a search for surgically correctable causes. In 3 children, 2 age 12 years and 1 age 13 years, unilateral footdrop developed over a few days to a month. Electrodiagnostic findings demonstrated lesions with maximal or exclusive involvement of the deep peroneal nerve ...

Atypical Presentations of Common Peroneal Neuropathy
PM&R, 2012Common peroneal neuropathy (CPN) can mimic lumbar radiculopathy both clinically and electrodiagnostically [1]. CPN caused by entrapment at the fibular head is the most frequent mononeuropathy of the lower limb [1]. The superficial peroneal sensory (SPS) nerve conduction study (NCS) is performed frequently in persons with suspected CPN.

Entarpment neuropathy of the peroneal nerve in the peroneal tunnel
Issues of Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery, 2023The objective of our study is to introduce practical doctor to compression neuropathy of the peroneal nerve in the peroneal tunnel and prove the need for timely detection and referral of patients with fibular neuropathy, if there are indications, for surgical treatment.
