Revision of Plasmopara (Chromista, Peronosporales) parasitic on Geraniaceae
Mycological Research, 2006Following a phenetic and phylogenetic analysis, five species of Plasmopara are recognized on Geraniaceae: P. pusilla and P. geranii-sylvatici in Eurasia, P. geranii in North America, P. praetermissa sp. nov. in Eurasia and North America, and P. wilsonii sp. nov. in North America and Far East Asia.

Haustoria of the Peronosporales
Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1956The somatic structure of some species of Peronospora, Pseudoperonospora, Plas-mopara, Bremia and Albugo is described. The effect of the fungi on their hosts and the nature and importance of their haustoria are considered. Haustoria are not essential to all these parasites since they are not developed if sufficient food is supplied to the invading ...

Phylogenetic relationships and nomenclature of Bremiella sphaerosperma (Chromista, Peronosporales)
Mycotaxon, 2007Molecular phylogenetic analyses using D1¿3 and D7¿8 nrLSU rDNA sequence data clearly show that Bremiella sphaerosperma is embedded within Plasmopara sensu stricto. Therefore, it is transferred to the genus Plasmopara; for nomenclatural reasons, we propose the new name Plasmopara constantinescui.

Ecological roles of saprotrophic Peronosporales (Oomycetes, Straminipila) in natural environments
Fungal Ecology, 2016Abstract The fungus-like Peronosporales are composed of several lineages of mainly biotrophic and hemibiotrophic representatives. Saprotrophic species of Peronosporales are limited to the genera Halophytophthora and Salisapilia , and to some species in Phytopythium and Phytophthora Clades 6 and 9, which inhabit terrestrial and all types of
