Catalytic CO oxidation over manganese-containing perovskites
Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 1991Mixed metal oxides are discussed as possible substitutes for noble metals in automobile catalytic converters. The catalytic activity for CO oxidation of LaMnO3 and La0.5Sr0.5MnO3 catalysts was examined. The ability of these catalysts to provide lattice oxygen and to sustain the oxidation reaction, even in the absence of molecular oxygen, has been ...

Co oxidation on LaCoO3 perovskite
Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering, 1994A study of CO oxidation on LaCoO3 perovskite was performed in an ultrahigh vacuum system by means of adsorption and desorption. All gases were adsorbed at ambient temperature. Two adsorption states (α- and β-) of CO exist. The α-peak at 440 K is attributed to carbonyl species adsorbed on Co3+ ions while the β-peak at 663 K likely comes from bidentate ...

Mini-review of perovskite oxides as oxygen electrocatalysts for rechargeable zinc–air batteries
, 2020Zn–air batteries (ZABs) have been considered to be promising candidates for the next generation of energy storage devices. The sluggish kinetics of the oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution reactions (ORR and OER, respectively) at the air cathode are the

Introduction to Perovskite Oxides
2019Perovskite, with the chemical formula CaTiO\(_3\), was discovered in 1839 in the Urals. It has a structure consisting of a cage of six oxygen anions surrounding the titanium cation in an octahedron.

Total Oxidation of Hydrocarbons on Perovskite Oxides
Catalysis Reviews, 1992Abstract Perovskite-type oxides containing transition metals are attracting great attention as catalysts for complete oxidation of hydrocarbons as well as electrochemical reduction of oxygen (1). A s far as I know, the use of perovskite-type oxides as catalysts was first reported by Meadowcroft in 1970 (2) for the electrochemical reduction of oxygen ...

Ferroelectricity in Perovskite-Type Oxides
Ferroelectrics, 2008Ferroelectricity in perovskite-related oxides was briefly reviewed mainly from the view point of crystal chemistry. Tolerance factor, t, for perovsikte oxides clearly discriminates the dielectric properties of them, except for KTaO. B-site off-center and BO 6 tilting become dominant for t > 1 and t < 1, respectively. Only BaZrO 3 and SrTiO 3 sit on t =

Ferroelectric fatigue in perovskite oxides
Applied Physics Letters, 1995We find that the reduction of the switchable polarization in BaTiO3 crystals via repeated polarization reversals (fatigue) is accompanied by the trapping of electronic charge and atomic scale distortions in the perovskite oxygen octahedron. The distortions are proposed to involve oxygen vacancies.
