On the Crystallization of Terbium Aluminium Garnet
Attempts to grow terbium aluminium garnet (Tb3Al5O12, TAG) by the Czochralski method lead to crystals of millimeter scale. Larger crystals could not be obtained. DTA measurements within the binary system showed that TAG melts incongruently at 1840 deg. C.

Multi-inch single-crystalline perovskite membrane for high-detectivity flexible photosensors
Hybrid halide perovskite single crystals show excellent optoelectronic properties but their small size and large thickness limit their application. Herein Liu et al.

Abrupt fluorescence intermittency or blinking is long recognized to be characteristic of single nano-emitters. Extended quantum-confined nanostructures also undergo spatially heterogeneous blinking, however, there is no such precedence in dimensionally ...

Simultaneous Metal-Insulator and Antiferromagnetic Transitions in Orthorhombic Perovskite Iridate Sr0.94Ir0.78O2.68 Single Crystals [PDF]
The orthorhombic perovskite SrIrO3 is a semimetal, an intriguing exception in iridates where the strong spin-orbit interaction coupled with electron correlations tends to impose a novel insulating state.
