Wafer-scale single-crystal perovskite patterned thin films based on geometrically-confined lateral crystal growth

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Wafer-scale deposition of uniform metal halide perovskite single-crystals is a step towards commercialisation. Using geometrically-confined lateral crystal growth, Leeet al., report patterned thin films of highly-aligned single-crystals and achieve ...

Indication of CsPbBr3 inclusions in zero dimensional Cs4PbBr6 perovskite single crystals by alkylammonium post‐treatment

open access: yesNano Select, 2021
The zero‐dimensional Cs4PbBr6 perovskites are highly emissive materials that demonstrated an effective potential in light emitting applications. There is an on‐going debate regarding the origin of its strong and green photoluminescence, which is not in ...

Orbital Geometry‐Governed Response of Pressure‐Tunable Quantum Defects in hBN

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Defects in hBN act as ultrasensitive quantum manometers when the energy of the intradefect optical transitions is modified by lattice compression. The orbital geometry of the electron wave functions governs how electron hopping and Coulomb interactions react uniquely to the reduction of the van der Waals gap and in‐plane compression, leading to robust ...

Unusual polarization-insensitive negative photoresponse of chiral double perovskite (R/S-MBA)4AgBiI8

open access: yesNano Research
Traditional perovskite single crystals typically exhibit polarization-dependent photoresponse characteristics due to crystallographic anisotropy, particularly showing sensitivity to linearly polarized light (LPL), and to left/right circularly polarized ...

Ultrasensitive Anti‐Stokes Luminescence Thermometry in Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Monolayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a highly sensitive nanothermometer using anti‐Stokes photoluminescence, also known as photoluminescence upconversion (UPL), in monolayer tungsten disulfide. A strong resonantly enhanced UPL is observed, confirming the central role of optical phonons in the PL upconversion mechanism.

Extremely Long Electron Lifetime in Spontaneously Passivated Polycrystalline Perovskite Layers via Illumination‐Assisted Trap Filling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are promising next‐generation photovoltaics. The high performance of PSCs is attributed to the long carrier lifetimes of perovskite photoabsorbers. However, the carrier lifetimes of polycrystalline perovskite layers, which serve as the photoabsorbers in practical PSCs, have remained limited to several tens of ...

Shaping Matter with Acoustic Waves: From Particles to Functional Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Acoustic‐directed assembly is reviewed as a materials‐oriented strategy for organizing particles, polymers, metals, and biological systems into functional structures. The review distinguishes reversible manipulation from permanent structure formation through medium fixation, particle fixation, and in situ material generation, highlighting routes toward
