Atomic-level simulation of ferroelectricity in perovskite solid solutions
Applied Physics Letters, 2000Building on the insights gained from electronic-structure calculations and from experience obtained with an earlier atomic-level method, we developed an atomic-level simulation approach based on the traditional Buckingham potential with shell model which correctly reproduces the ferroelectric phase behavior and dielectric and piezoelectric properties ...

Homogenization mechanism of perovskite solid solutions
Ferroelectrics, 1999Abstract Mechanism of homogenization of perovskite solid solutions was studied. Compositional inhomogeneity (compositional fluctuation) of lead titanate zirconate (PZT) was found by a measurement of X-ray diffraction peaks. The compositional fluctuation was considered to be caused from a gap where neither mechanical mixing of raw materials nor ...

Perovskite-like Solid Solutions in the System LiTaO3-CaZrO3
Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 1994Abstract An investigation of the LiTaO 3 -CaZrO 3 phase diagram has been carried out and the solid solution limits redetermined. LiTaO 3 solid solutions extend from 0 to 20 mole% CaZrO 3 . CaZrO 3 solid solutions cover the range 27 to 100 mole% CaZrO 3 , but are incomplete since a two-phase region or immiscibility gap occurs over the range ∼ 88 to

Band-gap nonlinearity in perovskite structured solid solutions
Journal of Applied Physics, 2010Compositional effects on optical band-gap energy using end members of ABO3 perovskites have been investigated through an optical absorption with a UV-spectroscopy. Three examples are selected, namely, BaTiO3–CaTiO3, BaTiO3–BaZrO3, and SrTiO3–BaZrO3 solid solutions.

Probabilistic models of a local structure of perovskite solid solutions
Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics, 2007The magnitudes of the structure amplitudes (|F(h, k, l)|) of the X-ray diffraction reflections measured for a PbIn1/2Nb1/2O3 single crystal are compared with those calculated with the use of a sequence of probability-theoretical models constructed for the structure of the PbIn1/2Nb1/2O3 compound.

CO oxidation and methane combustion on LaAl1−xFexO3 perovskite solid solutions
Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, 2002Catalytic CO oxidation and CH4 combustion were studied over LaAl1-xFexO3 (with x between 0 and 1) perovskites prepared by citrate method and calcined at 1073 K. The catalysts were characterised by X-ray diffraction (XRD), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), and magnetic susceptibility.

Raman and x-ray study of perovskite solid solutions
Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 1998La and Nd gallates are currently being used as substrate materials for high temperature superconductor thin film deposition. In this work we have synthesized and characterized by means of XRD and Raman spectroscopy solid solutions of the type . Polarized Raman study of and single crystals is also performed.

Formation of a solid solution in the MgSiO3–MnSiO3 perovskite system
Physics and Chemistry of Minerals, 2013Experiments using laser-heated diamond anvil cells combined with synchrotron X-ray diffraction and SEM–EDS chemical analyses have confirmed the existence of a complete solid solution in the MgSiO3–MnSiO3 perovskite system at high pressure and high temperature.

Planar Defects and Incommensurate Phases in Highly Ordered Perovskite Solid Solutions
Physical Review Letters, 2002A first-principles-derived approach is used to study the effects of planar defects on structural properties of a rocksalt-ordered Pb(Sc0.5Nb0.5)O3 alloy. These defects lead to unusual features, including a less symmetrical ground state with respect to the perfectly ordered material.

Electrophysical properties of perovskite solid solutions in the system CaTiO3−La2O3
Refractories and Industrial Ceramics, 1998The electrophysical properties of perovskite solid solutions in the system CaTiO3−La2O3 were investigated in the La2O3 concentration range of 0–40%. The composition dependences of permittivity, loss tangent, volume resistivity, and temperature coefficient of capacitance were plotted.
