New Perspectives on Semiconducting Conjugated Oligomers for Neuromodulation in Hydra vulgaris

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Semiconducting organic compounds, thiophene‐based, modify the rhythmic electrical activity of the cnidarian Hydra vulgaris acting on specific neuronal circuits. The ETE‐S trimer also forms electronically conducting wires in the living tissues of the animal.

Exploring Gelatin‐A and Mouse Proline‐Rich Protein 5 as Probes for Wine Polyphenol Analysis by Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel strategy for the detection of polyphenols in wine. By combining Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation Monitoring and original functionalization strategies, Gelatin A from porcine skin and Mouse Proline‐Rich Protein 5, polyphenols are successfully detected directly in wine without any prior sample preparation ...

Electrochemical Detection of Nitrite Based on Iron Oxide–Reduced Graphene Oxide Nanocomposite Modified Electrode in Real Water

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
A sensitive, low‐cost electrochemical sensor based on iron oxide–reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite is developed for nitrite detection in water. The sensor demonstrated excellent performance with an ultra‐low detection limit of 17.3 pM and high recovery in real samples.
