What’s New With Altitudes and Perpendicular Bisectors?
Mathematics Magazine, 2020A triangle’s non-parallel altitudes and perpendicular bisectors intersect in six points. In this note, we describe three apparently little-known properties of these points.

Perpendicular Bisector Constraint on Artificial Neural Network
2017 IEEE 29th International Conference on Tools with Artificial Intelligence (ICTAI), 2017A perpendicular bisector solution of perceptron and a perpendicular bisector constraint on artificial neural network(ANN) are studied in this paper. As is known, both Preceptron and multilayer ANN based on back-propagation algorithm suffer from similar issues of solution instability.

The perpendicular bisector construction
Geometriae Dedicata, 1995\textit{J. Langr} veröffentlichte 1953 im Am. Math. Monthly 60, 551 (1953), Problem E 1050, folgende Vermutung: Die Mittellote \(b_i\) auf den Seiten \(a_i\) eines ebenen Vierecks \(Q_1\) mit den Ecken \((a_i a_{i+1})\) -- \(i \text{ mod.}4\) -- (\(\neq\) Sehnenviereck eines Kreises) bilden ein Viereck \(Q_2\) mit den Ecken \((b_i b_{i + 1})\).

Perpendicular bisectors, duality and local symmetry of plane curves
Proceedings of the Royal Society of Edinburgh: Section A Mathematics, 1995For a smooth, simple closed curve α in the plane, the perpendicular bisector map P associates to each pair of distinct points (p, q) on α the perpendicular bisector of the chord joining p and q. To a pair (p, p), the map P associates the normal to α at p.

A fast and robust circle detection method using perpendicular bisector of chords
2013 25th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (CCDC), 2013In this paper a new method to detect the center of a circle is proposed. This method uses pairs of perpendicular bisectors of each two no-repeat intersecting chords to calculate the intersection which is the center of the circle. It can overcome the drawbacks of deviation caused by edge points nonuniformly distributed by centroid method, and drawbacks ...

Vorticity-Based Perpendicular-Bisector Grids for Improved Upscaling of Two-Phase Flow
SPE Journal, 2010Summary Highly detailed geological models, which are primary inputs for reservoir simulators, necessitate a reduction in the number of grid-blocks used in the solution of flow equations. However, preparing a coarse-scale model that can mimic the fine-scale behavior is challenging. Cartesian grids suffer from some shortcomings, such as in

Students have some difficulty with the concepts and constructions of the altitudes, the perpendicular bisectors of the sides, the medians, and the angle bisectors of the triangle. Some students seem to show little understanding of the words of the definitions, and the mechanics of straightedge and compass construction often do not help to clarify their
