A magnetic nanolayer with a perpendicular magnetic easy axis and negligible magnetization is demonstrated. Even though a manganese metal is antiferromagnetic in bulk form, a few manganese monolayers grown on a paramagnetic ordered alloy template and ...

Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Tailoring Magnetic Anisotropy in Ultrathin Cobalt by Surface Carbon Chemistry
The ability to manipulate magnetic anisotropy is essential for magnetic sensing and storage tools. Surface carbon species offer cost‐effective alternatives to metal‐oxide and noble metal capping layers, inducing perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in ...

We introduce a molecular strategy to assemble one‐dimensional (1D) materials into two‐dimensional (2D) van der Waals metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Crystals of [FeX(pzX)(bpy)] (X = Cl, F) form anisotropic 2D layers that can be mechanically exfoliated into thin sheets.

Evidence for Itinerant Ferromagnetic Flat Bands Producing Large Transverse Responses
Itinerant ferromagnetic flat bands are demonstrated in GdCo5 with a high Curie temperature of 940K, a stacked honeycomb–kagome lattice, through angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy and magneto‐thermoelectric measurements. These topological flat bands generate large Berry curvaturte, producing gigantic anomalous Nernst effect with record‐high ...

Hydrogen-Driven Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy at the Co/Ir Interface
Magnetic anisotropy at the nanoscale is a key property for developing advanced spintronic devices, information storage systems, and gas sensors. In this study, we investigate the hydrogen-assisted perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) in the Co/Ir ...
