The following text has been taken from a letter sent to The Times by Professor František Janouch and published on 21 March 1974. Professor Janouch, a leading Czech nuclear scientist, was ‘allowed to emigrate’ at the end of last year by the Husäk regime which he had consistently opposed since the Soviet invasion of 1968.
