A Stochastic and Security‐Constrained Transmission Expansion Planning Framework Incorporating Correlated Wind–Load Uncertainties and Renewable Generation Variability

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study presents a stochastic and security‐constrained transmission expansion planning framework that incorporates correlated wind–load uncertainties using the DWP–RSS model and evaluates N − 1 contingencies. The proposed Benders‐based methodology enhances reliability and provides cost‐efficient and resilient grid reinforcement decisions.

Explaining persistent management of change underperformance in a safety‐critical gas organization

open access: yesProcess Safety Progress, Volume 45, Issue 2, Page 168-177, June 2026.
Abstract Management of change (MOC) is a critical process safety control used to govern engineering and organizational modifications in safety‐critical systems; however, despite widespread procedural adoption, it often underperforms in practice. This study identifies the organizational and managerial mechanisms that erode the practical authority of MOC

Lived Experiences and Long‐Term Reflections on Early Marriage Among Palestinian Women: A Qualitative Study in the West Bank

open access: yesPublic Health Challenges, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Early marriage remains a persistent practice in conflict‐affected settings, including the West Bank of Palestine, where sociocultural norms, economic pressures, and political instability intersect. Although prior research has largely focused on short‐term outcomes, limited qualitative evidence examines how women retrospectively ...

Recurrent Pneumothorax Following Multilevel Posterior Spinal Fixation in a Patient With Pre‐Existing Pulmonary Contusion: A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
We report a life‐threatening recurrent pneumothorax in a polytrauma patient following posterior spinal fixation, triggered by the physiological stress of prone positioning and positive pressure ventilation on a pre‐existing pulmonary contusion. This case highlights the critical risk of early chest tube removal and advocates for maintaining pleural ...

A Structured Review of Selenium Pollution in Global Aquatic Environments: Sources, Levels, and Co‐Pollutants

open access: yesEnvironmental Quality Management, Volume 35, Issue 4, Summer 2026.
ABSTRACT Despite its nutritional and industrial significance, selenium (Se) is considered a pollutant in aquatic environments owing to its toxicity at elevated concentrations, which potentially cause environmental degradation and adverse health effects in humans and local biota.

Fluid‐Driven Cohesive Strengthening: Critical Role of Reaction Kinetics as the Determinant for Frictional Stability

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract Following an earthquake, faults lock and regain strength via a combination of healing mechanisms that include pressure solution, contact growth, and cementation. Fault healing dictates strength recovery during the seismic cycle and is therefore a key factor controlling earthquake recurrence intervals, stress drop, and other source properties ...

Evaluation of the WRF‐ARW Model Physical Parameterization Schemes for Heavy Flood Events Over Bushehr‐Province of Iran

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract This study evaluates the performance of different WRF model configurations in simulating all 19 heavy precipitation events over Bushehr Province, Iran, over two decades (2000–2019). For the first time, the sensitivity of combinations of three physical parameterization options—seven cumulus (Cu) schemes, three planetary boundary layer (PBL ...
