Persistent discontinuities in late replicating DNA during meiosis inLilium

Chromosoma, 1976
DNA regions of chromosomes that are replicated during zygotene are not ligated to the body of nuclear DNA on completion of replication. The discontinuities are present only in the strands that are synthesized during premeiotic S and they persist through prophase until the interval of chromosome disjunction.

Necessary conditions for discontinuities of multidimensional persistent Betti numbers

Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2014
AbstractTopological persistence has proven to be a promising framework for dealing with problems concerning the analysis of data. In this context, it was originally introduced by taking into account 1‐dimensional properties of data, modeled by real‐valued functions.

Preliminary identification of persistent or pervasive discontinuities from borehole data

SSIM 2021: Second International Slope Stability in Mining, 2021
Open pit slope designs are often controlled by persistent or pervasive discontinuities in a rock mass. Whether a discontinuity will be important for inter-ramp and overall scale assessments is difficult to ascertain, especially for development projects without exposed outcrops.

Discontinuation of anticoagulant treatment: from clinical trials to medication persistence

Current Medical Research and Opinion, 2015
The new generation, non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants are used in an increasing frequency, partially replacing the vitamin K antagonists in several fields of anticoagulation. Efficacy of the preventive oral anticoagulant regime, however, may be compromised by patient non-compliance.The authors analyzed treatment discontinuation frequencies ...

Can antibacterial therapy be discontinued in persistently febrile granulocytopenic cancer patients?

The American Journal of Medicine, 1984
It has been suggested that empiric broad-spectrum antibiotics, instituted for fever in the presence of granulocytopenia, should continue to be administered, even when infection is not demonstrable, to those patients who remain persistently febrile and granulocytopenic.

Outcome After Discontinuing Prophylactic Antibiotics in Children With Persistent Vesicoureteral Reflux

Journal of Urology, 2010
Treatment for vesicoureteral reflux remains controversial. Lacking an evidence-based treatment protocol, we offered the option of terminating prophylactic antibiotics in otherwise healthy patients with persistent vesicoureteral reflux at age 5 years or greater.
